“Ruto Must Go!”: Vihiga residents flood streets as Azimio protests resume

Azimio leader Raila Odinga announced resumption of protests on Tuesday.

Vihiga residents joined their fellow Azimio supporters in Nairobi and Kisumu in protesting the high cost of living and in solidarity with their leader, Raila Odinga.

The protesters from Mbale town brought to a standstill activities along the Kakamega-Kisumu highway, demanding the resignation of President William Ruto for failing to stabilize the economy eight months after assuming the presidency.

In Nairobi, the protests resulted in the torching of two vehicles: a food truck and a bus, as the protests take shape after the failure of bipartisan talks between President Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Raila Odinga made a trip across the city, rallying supporters and demanding that the government heed his demands of lowering the cost of living, opening servers, and pausing the recruitment process of new IEBC officials, among other things.
