Lugari’s Makutano market to get a new police post to curb crime

Mautuma Ward has been makin headline from cases of crime rampant in the area.

Makutano market in Mukuyu Sub-Location in Mautuma Ward, Lugari Sub-County, will soon have a police post in a move to curb the rising cases of crime in the area.

Lugari Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Moses Gicharu said the police post will back up Mlimani Police Post and Panpaper Police Station in serving residents.

“Mukuyu Sub-Location residents have been walking long distances to access police services at the Mlimani Police Post. We will sit down with stakeholders and put up stringent measures to establish a police post here,” the DCC said during a baraza in the area on Friday.

Mr. Gicharu also announced that Mukuyu Sub-Location will soon be gazetted as a location.

“Soon, we will have a chief and an assistant chief here. We will announce it, and people will apply,” he said.
