Bodies of 7 pupils who perished in Kaburengu accident moved to Busia

The accident claimed eight lives, including that of the driver.

The bodies of seven pupils of Ebenezer Academy who died following a tragic accident at the Kaburengu hotspot have been moved to Busia for Burial.

Two of them will be buried on July 1, while the rest will be laid to rest on July 7 and 8.

The school head, James Ouma, said a fundraiser has been organized on Wednesday at the Busia Polytechnic Grounds to raise funds to meet the cost of the burials.

A requiem mass will be conducted on Saturday ahead of the burial.

The accident happened after the school bus, which was traveling from an academic trip in Eldoret, rammed into a Mercedes-Benz on Saturday.

The bus driver also perished in the grisly accident.

The deceased’s bodies have been lying at the Webuye County Hospital Mortuary.
