Mautuma Ward MCA donates calf to clear fee arrears for two students

The MCA emphasized the importance of paying fees in kind.

Mautuma Ward’s Member of the County Assembly, Charles Anyona, has donated a calf to clear a student’s fee arrears.

The ward rep personally delivered the calf worth Sh20,000 to St. Augustine’s Mlimani Secondary School to pay the fee for two needy students.

Mr. Anyona, while speaking to the WKT reporter on the phone, said that as a leader, he is committed to supporting education.

“Giving the calf to the school is a gesture to parents that even a chicken or any animal can be used to pay fees,” he said.

The MCA said he will donate 10 chickens to Immaculate Heart Secondary School to pay fees for more students and proceed to Ivona Mixed Secondary School.

“The schools buy the animals at an affordable price compared to the normal market, so it is value for money when you pay fees in kind,” he said.
