Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera has been forced to go into hiding for fear of arrest over his involvement in the ongoing anti-government demonstrations.
A source close to the lawmaker revealed that the MP has been missing since the three-day protests kicked off on Wednesday, and police are searching for him.
“The moment he is seen, he gets arrested,” the source said.
The fiery lawmaker is said to be locked somewhere just within his constituency. As would be expected, the leader has not been appearing in public since the protests kicked off.
The MP in the past three days appeared in the media criticizing Trade, Industrialization and Investments CS Moses Kuria over his cryptic post that suggested Raila Odinga would be killed.
The legislator was last seen in public during his visit at the Goebay Training Insititute at Panpaper in Lugari Ward early this week where he met students, lecturers and parents to deliberate on strategies for the institution’s growth.
The new development comes moments after police re-arrested Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, even after the court released him on a Sh100,000 cash bail on Friday.
Babu was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Wednesday upon landing from a trip in Mombasa and was detained in police custody for two days.
Dozens of Azimio leaders as well as protesting Kenyans have also been arrested since the demos kicked off on Wednesday.
