ODM leader Raila Odinga has not been invited to ANC patron Musalia Mudavadi’s Bomas of Kenya delagates summit in which the former vice president is expected to make a major political announcement this Sunday.
ANC secretary general Simon Gikuru said that they have resolved to put Raila aside and invite only friends and not political competitors.
“I have not seen any invitation to Raila. Neither have I seen one for Jubilee. Why would we invite our competitors when we are launching our bid for the presidency? To come and do what? ” Gakuru said.
Mudavadi has promised an announcement that will shake the country like an earthquake ahead of the August polls.
Kakamega Senetor Cleophas Malala insisted that even Ruto shouldn’t be in the meeting because he is still there, although there is speculation that the ANC is under negotiation to team up with Ruto’s UDA.
“We are only inviting our friends, not our competitors. Ruto is our friend, but still our competitor. We have not invited him,” Malala said.
OKA principals Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (KANU), and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) are among those invited, as is Democratic Party leader Speaker Justin Muturi.
Other official invitees include former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, diplomats and the media.
