Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has expressed gratitude after the court acquitted him of murder charges against his opponent’s aide.
The lawmaker now says his opponent, Brian Khaemba, accused him of murder because he wanted to gain political mileage, and now the court has proved him wrong.
Barasa was saying this during the launch of an eight-story classroom building at Kamusinde Primary School in his constituency.
The MP was set free by Bungoma High Court’s Lady Justice Roseylne Ouko on Thursday and no longer faces charges of killing Brian Olunga.
“You can now confirm that I did not kill,” he said.
