Mautuma Ward MCA Charles Anyona has lashed out at farmers who are selling their maize produce for as little as Sh80 per gorogoro.
The leader is instead advising them to store the produce until the prices shoot before selling to get maximum profit.
“It breaks my heart to see farmers giving away their hard-earned produce for as little as Sh80. I advise them to store the produce and wait for the prices to stabilize,” he said.
The leader wants farmers to come to the realization that the product’s demand will shoot up in a few days.
Anyona was accompanied by Mbagara Sub-Location Assistant Chief Joseline Juma, and Kewa community area Philip Ambira, who ordered the immediate closure of maize buying points.
