Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has been ranked as the top-performing countrywide in the latest ranking by Politrack Africa.
Barasa scooped an approval rating of 72.3%, coming ahead of Narok’s Patrick Ole Ntutu, who tied with Isiolo’s Abdi Hassan Guyo with an approval rating of 70.2%.
The survey conducted between August 14, 2023, and August 31, 2023 involved a sample size of 4,801 registered voters in all 47 counties and had a margin of error of +/- 1.254% at a 95% confidence level.
“Most Kenyans (76.2%) find it difficult to participate in key county activities and access information on county budgets,legislation, and project plans,” the survey stated as one of its key findings, adding that 62.7% have confidence in their county leadership and approve of their performance.
Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was ranked fourth with an approval rate of 70.9% in the top 20 list of top-performing senators in the country. Kitui County’s Enoch Wambua was ranked the best with an approval rating of 73.2%.
