Renowned journalist Alex Chamwada devoted his weekend to reconnecting with a significant figure from his past: his former high school headteacher, Mr. Ijait Aluku, in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County.
Chamwada shared a photo of his touching reunion with his esteemed teacher back at St. Peter’s Mumias High School.
The esteemed scribe accompanied the new photo with an old one, throwing back 35 years to a day when he was receiving an award from Mr. Ijait during a school assembly.

The throwback photo depicts a youthful and inspired Chamwada, clad in navy blue shorts, a green pullover, and a crisp white shirt.
“Visited my former headteacher, St. Peter’s Mumias High School, Mr. Ijait Aluku at his home in Lugari today. Compare and contrast the photos. Then and now. In the first photo I’m receiving an award from Mr. Aluku during a school assembly. 35 years ago,” he posted on his Facebook page.
