The Caretaker Committee led by Aaron Ringera has appointed former Vihiga Queens title winning coach Alex Alumira as the Harambee Starlets head coach at Nyayo Stadium.
Coach Alex Alumira has had a good time during his coaching period as he has only managed six losses in 118 matches at Queens. Alumira has been coaching in Tanzania, Tiger Queens and he was admired by host teams from North and West Africa.
Alumira is a well decorated coach as he boasts a record of nurturing talent for long term and the likes of Cythia Shilwatso, Jentrix Shikangwa and Lillian Awour are among the diaspora – based players who passed through his hands and a record that maybe helped him land the job.
Alumira had stiff competition from four other local coaches during the interview conducted at Nyayo Stadium last week.
He boasts a FIFA diploma in football medicine. He will be assisted by Thika Queens Benta Achieng and Mathare United Women team coach Ann Alouch.
Alumira is immediately tasked to ensure Starlets qualify for AWCON for the second time.
