Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s assets have been frozen by order of the High Court.
Oparanya’s assets, worth Sh28.9 million, are being investigated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over graft allegations.
The former governor is accused of procurement fraud and conflict of interest in the award of tenders by the County Government of Kakamega during his tenure.
Companied linked to Oparanya are said to have led to the loss of public funds of Sh1.4 billion during the financial years 2013/2014 to 2021/2022.
