A man from Khayega in Kakamega County has been arrested after he allegedly beat his son to death for stealing chicken.
Douglas Tendwa, 36, is accused of using a wooden stick to beat his 13-year-old son, Shadrach Luseno, to death.
Luseno had stolen two chickens and disappeared from home for four days.
After the thorough beating, the boy collapsed. He was rushed to the Shieywe Private Hospital in Khayega, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to Citizen Digital, police and the mortuary discovered multiple visible injuries and blood stains on the boy’s body.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to Mukumu Mission Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination as the suspect is expected to be arraigned in court.
