Mufutu, Lunyito and Lumama secondary schools produce a combined 52 Es

Mufutu, Lumama, and Lunyito Secondary Schools, located in Lugari Ward within Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County, collectively recorded a total of 52 grade Es in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2023 exam results.

Among these schools, Mufutu Secondary School stood out with the highest number of grade Es, totaling 35, followed by Lunyito with 12, and Lumama with 5.

Notably, Lumama Secondary School showcased a brighter side, producing six candidates with university entry grades. The achievements included one B (plain), two B- (minus), and three C+ (plus) grades.

In contrast, Mufutu Secondary School had only one candidate securing a university entry grade, specifically a C+ (plus). Unfortunately, Lunyito faced challenges, and despite having a top candidate with a C (plain), they were unable to produce a university entry grade.

The performance of these three schools has been attributed to several factors, including inadequate infrastructure, neglect from local leadership, low motivation among both students and teachers, and overall poor management.
