Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera has honored the teachers and students of St. Cecilia Girls Mautuma High School, presenting them with a bull and an undisclosed amount of cash in recognition of their outstanding performance in the recently released KCSE 2023 results.
St. Cecilia Girls Mautuma claimed the position of the second-best school in the constituency, achieving an improved mean score of 6.0 and securing 34 university entries—an impressive leap from the 26 entries recorded in 2022.
During a thanksgiving ceremony at the school on Monday, Nabwera addressed the gathered students, teachers, and parents, expressing his satisfaction that no candidate received an E grade.
“You delivered two A- (minus) grades and secured the second position in the Lugari constituency. These commendable results are the fruits of the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, parents, and myself,” he remarked.
While celebrating the achievements, Nabwera emphasized the desire for even greater progress in the upcoming year, stating, “We celebrate them, but we aim for even more improvement this year.”
Nabii also inaugurated a refurbished dormitory with a capacity for 120 students and pledged to enhance the school’s infrastructure to further support academic excellence.
The ceremony was attended by other leaders, including MCAs Bernard Bokanda Mulama of Lumakanda and Pius Balex of Lwandeti. Charles Anyona of Mautuma was missing in action.
The event at St. Cecilia followed another thanksgiving ceremony at Lwandeti DEB Secondary to celebrate the school posting an improvement.
Last week, the MP held another ceremony at Archbishop Njenga Girls Lugari to celebrate the school producing six canidates with an A- (minus) and an improved meanscore.
