Lugari MP has received a fair share of criticism for boasting over commissioning a school bus that was purchased from parents’ contribution.
On Thursday, Archbishop Njenga Girls Lugari High School proudly launched a brand-new Scania bus, sparking envy from neighboring schools.
However, some residents find fault in the MP showcasing a property solely financed by parents’ hard-earned money.
Stambo Moses questioned on Facebook, “Why should the MP boast about launching a bus donated by parents?” This post triggered mixed reactions, with several netizens defending the MP’s actions.
“I believe he was merely a guest of honor to acknowledge the parents’ contribution to the school, setting an example for other institutions,” remarked Emmanuel Amalesh.
Yet, a faction of netizens argued that the MP should only commission projects funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Others criticized the MP for neglecting grassroots institutions without adequate resources, suggesting support for schools in remote areas that may even lack basic transportation like motorbikes.
“We have schools in remote areas that he can support, maybe even with motorbikes. Why did he choose to launch a bus at a school that already has another bus?” Kennedy Osiru expressed his concern.
