Lwandeti-Lugari-Nzoia Road to be tarmacked

Residents of Lugari Constituency in Kakamega County have a reason to smile as the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) recently unveiled plans to tarmac the Lwandeti-Lugari-Nzoia Road.

On October 23, 2023, the authority invited sealed tenders for the upgrade of the 11-kilometre road, extending from the Eldoret-Webuye highway at Lwandeti to the Nzoia River bridge. The upgrading process will involve grading, site clearing, cleaning of side drains, and the installation of culverts, drifts, and road furniture.

For years, the road’s condition has been a persistent challenge for users. This project will be integrated into a broader series of upgrades and routine maintenance initiatives for major roads in Kakamega, Busia, and Bungoma counties, facilitated by both KERRA and the Kenya National Highway Association (KeNHa).

Maintenance and upgrading will also extend to the Stendikisa-Lumakanda-Kipkaren and Mufutu-Lumama-Manyonyi roads, ensuring a more robust and efficient transportation network for the local communities.
