A teacher from Embu County has committed suicide after he was rejected by his lover.
In a suicide note he left behind, the young teacher requested to be buried on Valentine’s Day before he took his own life.
He also explained that the reason for taking his own life was because he couldn’t imagine the love of his life seeing another man.
“Just decided to rest in peace. I have tried all means but it has been in vain. I have pleaded with her but all has fallen on deaf ears,” he wrote.
The deceased, who scribbled contacts of his lover on the suicide note, also requested her to read her eulogy during his burial.
He left behind the photo to be used in his funeral and two names of Meru MCAs who would grace his send-off.
He went on to urge his family to look after a child he had sired with a different woman in a neighboring village and requested elders to ensure the young one inherits his property.
Police confirmed that the cause of his death was as a result of suicide due to depression.
