Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera was driving to work when he met three students who had been sent home due to school fees arrears.
After speaking with them to understand their situation, the MP invited them into his car and drove them to Sipande AIC Secondary School, where he promptly settled their outstanding fees.
Grateful for his intervention, the students expressed their appreciation and pledged to redouble their efforts in their studies.
The administration of Sipande AIC Secondary School had been compelled to send over 100 students home to collect funds to settle their fee arrears.
“We appreciate the efforts he is putting in education because most of the parents seem to be ignorant about education. So, him coming in is actually shading light in the education sector,” said Ms. Reba Nechesa, the school head.
Mr. Nabwera reiterated his commitment to improving education in the constituency by extending support to as many underprivileged students as possible.
