Nabii Nabwera, the Member of Parliament for Lugari Constituency, has committed to assisting students at Mukuyu Girls Secondary School by covering their outstanding fee arrears.
During an annual general meeting at the school on Friday, the MP announced his intention to pay fees for 130 orphaned students and cover 80 percent of the fees for Form Four students preparing for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
Nabwera emphasized that clearing students’ fee arrears would significantly enhance school performance by enabling students to focus fully on their studies.
The MP mentioned that he has established a dedicated team in each ward to identify and support needy cases.
As a member of the Education Committee in the National Assembly, Nabwera stressed the importance of collaboration between the government, the community, and the school to achieve excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities.
Ms. Nipher Amimo, the principal of Mukuyu Girls, expressed her gratitude for Nabwera’s commitment and confirmed the sincerity of his promise.
She highlighted the positive impact this financial support would have on students’ attendance and academic performance and assured that the school would work hard to meet the MP’s expectations.
