A family in Mlimani Village in Mautuma Ward, Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, is grappling with the shocking news of the murder of their kin whose body was found dumped in a forest in Machakos County on Thursday.
Franco Sivyweche, 35, had been employed as a housekeeper at a police officer’s home near Machakos town since 2020.
Josphine Wanjala, a cousin of the deceased, suspects that his friends were involved in the murder to steal his salary.
“He was working for a police officer in Machakos County. We suspect his friends took part in his murder because reports claim he was last seen with friends just after receiving his salary before his body was later discovered in a forest,” Ms. Wanjala said.
Sivyweche is survived by his four children but had no wife.
The family is now calling for speedy investigations by authorities to ensure justice is served.
His body has been transferred to a mortuary in Machakos as the family plans to transport it back home on Sunday for burial later this coming week.
