Bumula Member of Parliament, Jack Wamboka, has publicly disagreed with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his recent remarks concerning the nomination of cabinet secretaries.
On Sunday, July 24, 2024, DP Gachagua claimed that certain leaders harboring malicious intentions are attempting to end the dominance of Mt. Kenya in government affairs, warning that such efforts will be futile.
Wamboka has strongly criticized this statement, labeling it as incitement and a promotion of ethnicity, favoritism, and regionalism. Addressing the residents of Bumula on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Wamboka condemned the deputy president and described him as a significant obstacle to the Kenya Kwanza government.
“The Deputy President of Kenya is the biggest embarrassment of our time,” Wamboka declared.
Furthermore, the MP emphasized that Gachagua’s actions have been undermining President Ruto’s leadership and hindering progressive efforts.
“I want to tell William Ruto that Rigathi Gachagua Geoffrey is an embarrassment to you,” he stated.
Wamboka also denounced Gachagua’s suggestion that the Mount Kenya community deserves more privileges than other communities, asserting that every community has the right to benefit from the government regardless of their ethnicity or region.
