A 25-year-old man from Shinyalu, Kakamega County, is on the run after allegedly killing his father during a dispute over a dead pig.
The victim, Kizito Hamas, lost his life while trying to mediate a violent argument between the suspect, Samuel Muhangani, and his grandfather late Sunday night.
The altercation began when Muhangani arrived home to find his pig dead, sparking a confrontation with his grandfather.
In an attempt to resolve the conflict, the 49-year-old father, who was the head of a family of 10 children, was fatally attacked by his son with a machete.
Authorities are currently searching for the suspect, while the body of the deceased has been taken to the Kakamega County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
