Police are on the hunt for a man believed to be responsible for the gruesome murder of a commercial sex worker in the Tairi Mbili area along the Eldoret-Webuye highway.
The victim’s lifeless body was discovered in a makeshift lodging she had rented for the night.
Nancy Maria, a neighbor to the deceased, recounted the harrowing moment she stumbled upon the crime scene.
“My friend went into her house with a client at around 3 a.m.,” she said. “When I noticed her door was still open later, I felt something was wrong. I entered and was shocked to find her naked body with blood oozing from her mouth.”
Maria quickly alerted neighbors, and together they reported the matter to Baharini Police Station.
A combined team of police officers and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives arrived at the scene shortly afterward to begin investigations. The woman’s body was transported to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary as authorities intensified their efforts to track down the suspect.
