Woman killed in Kitale for stealing ksh 6,000

Police in Kitale have launched  investigation following the murder of one Loreen Wafula, a 22-year-old woman and a house help allegedly killed by her employer on suspicion of stealing Ksh6,000.


The incident that happened in Machungwa Sirende Ward was reported at Bikeke Police Station.


According to the eye witnesses, the Woman was beaten up to death by three men who accused her of stealing the said money after storming Ms Wafula’s brother-in-law’s house in search of the Ksh 6000 that they didn’t get.


It’s said after they failed to get the said money they started beating her ruthlessly.


The neighbour whom the young woman used to work, had sold a sheep and kept the money inside their house, later they learnt that someone had taken the money.


According to Police, the three suspects locked the young woman inside the house before beating her badly. She was rushed to the near by Health facility at Bikike unfortunately doctors pronounced that she was no more.


Trans Nzoia County Police Commander, Jacinta Wesonga said that the Police are investigating the saddening incident and the suspects will be arrested soon.

“We do not want to arrest someone today and release him tomorrow for lack of evidence we want to carry out investigation first and get enough evidence that will jail someone, we also need cooperation from you people that will help us make arrests of the suspects,” Said Jacinta.


The Police Commander further urged locals not to take matters in their hands instead they should report to the Police or the nearby authority for action to be taken.
