Kimilili: Bank robbers make away with KSh 25 million after shooting two police officers

The bank manager was also shot and is nursing serious stomach injuries.

Police have launched investigations following an incident in which thugs robbed a local bank in Kimilili, Bungoma County, today.

According to a police report seen by the media, the robbers are said to have shot two police officers and the manager at Ushirika Bank before making away with KSh 25 million.

“S/Sgt Boniface Hamisi was shot in both legs at the thigh, while Apc Joseph Lomulen was shot in the right knee,” read part of the statement.

The bank manager, Kennedy Khalakai, was shot on the left side of the stomach, and the bullet went in deep.

“The trio was rushed to Kimilili Sub County Hospital for first aid and later referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret, in stable condition,” police said.

By the time we went to the press, no arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
