The race to succeed Musa Wangila Makhapila as Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Lugari Ward in the August 9 polls is taking shape after forces caused by party primaries and political decisions saw some candidates opt out.

Here is the list and profiles of the candidates whose bids remain.

He hails from Mufutu Village in Lugari Location and has been sitting on the Lugari Constituency CDF committee as a member. At age 33, this is going to be Denno’s first attempt not only in the County Assembly race but also in the history of his political career.

Little is known about his academic record although he claims he graduated from a university in Kenya.

Mr. Manyengo recently won the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) ticket for Lugari Ward. He, therefore, supports DP William Ruto’s Husler Movement.

A diehard of Chelsea FC, Denno sponsored a youth football tournament in Mufutu dubbed the ‘Dennis Manyengo Super Cup’ in December 2021.
