Maseno University students have taken to the streets to protest the murder of a 22-year-old man whose body was found yesterday dumped in a thicket behind hostels.
The student, identified as James Omollo from Siaya, was a third-year in the School of Computing and Informatics.
A source says a report from Maseno Police Station stated that the ‘deceased was in the company of a colleague on their way to their hostels from a nightclub when they were attacked’.
The other student, however, managed to escape and went to his room without information about the well-being of his friend.

Kisumu Police Commander Alphonse Peter, while confirming the incident, said a search was conducted after they failed to reach him by phone, only to discover his body lying at the place he was attacked.
Students are decrying rampant insecurity in the institution found in Vihiga County.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Kisumu awaiting postmortem.
