Savala DEB Primary School in Lugari Ward Lugari Sub-County, is all jubilant after its first candidate scrored 401 marks, coming short of 27 marks from the best countrywide.
Angel Rehema Munala scored 80 (A) in English, 80 (A) in Kiswahili, 83 (A) in Mathematics, 78 (A-) in Science and 80 (A) in Social Studies and Religious Education.
Her uncle Geoffrey Munala, who spoke to the Western Kenya Times on phone, said she is proud of her niece for bringing home good results.
“She is a hardworking girl from a dysfunctional family. Her father is a chronic drunkard who is separated from her mother,” Mr. Munala said, asking for well-wishers to chip in and help raise fees for her.
Rehema’s performance is an excellent feat considering that Savala DEB Primary is a public school struggling with infrastructure and learning resources.
