Residents of Mautuma in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, are still coming to terms with the manner in which an 11-months-old toddler died after drowning in a basin of water.
The mother of the baby is said to have left the kid playing with her two-year-old brother around a basin of water she was using to wash clothes before the sad incident.
Mautuma Location chief Pamela Davava told West FM’s Joseph Amunya Otieno that the mother, who stays with her grandma, was coming from the stream nearby when she found her baby girl nose-dived into the basin and lifeless.
The body has been taken to Kimbilio Mortuary in Uasin Gishu County by Turbo Police Station Officers.
