Chelsea suffered a humiliating defeat last night at Stamford Bridge after Arsenal thrashed them 2-4 in a thrilling Premier League encounter.
Chelsea’s captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, could not hold his frustration after the full-time whistle that saw his team lose 2-4 to the Gunners, especially after causing a penalty that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka took.
Saka sent Edouard Mendy parking and sealed Arsenal’s triumph at the bridge.
Azpilicueta’s misfortune caused a stir among a section of Chelsea fans who shouted at him after the full-time whistle, something that made him make a move towards them.
It is unclear what the captain said to the fans.
Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah starred with two goals in addition to two from Emile Smith Rowe and Skah. Chelsea had the relief of goals from Timo Werner and Azpilicueta, who all scored during the first half.
Overall, for Chelsea, it was a really poor display after three consecutive defeats. Thomas Tuchel went with a rather surprising back-line of Malang Sarr, Andreas Christensen and Azpilicueta.
Chelsea will meet West Ham on Sunday.
