Ex Westlands MP Fred Gumo urges Kitale residents to snub Ruto for disrespecting President Uhuru

This follows a public spat between President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto during the Labor Day celebrations on Monday.

Former Westlands MP Fed Gumo has askedKitale residents not to vote for Ruto for disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The politician has also urged Deputy President William Ruto to resign if he is man enough and feels he is not part of the government.

Speaking in Kitale, Gumo, a supporter of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance, accused the DP Ruto of answering President Uhuru Kenyatta without respect, saying leaders with such characters are not suitable to hold higher office.

He said Kenya needs a sober and respectable person who will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August general election.

Gumo said Ruto has failed to be available in the office to assist his boss. Instead, he has turned his Karen home into a campaign center as he blames the same government on the other side.

He said transporting crowds to the late President Mwai Kibaki for cheering does not bring votes for him. He added that the late President Mwai Kibaki was respectful and that such an act was not a good example.

Gumo further appealed to Trans Nzoia voters and Kenyans at large to support the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance for the betterment of the country rather than electing leaders with bad records.

He also urged Kenyans to maintain peace before and after the general elections by avoiding divisive politics with the intention of dividing Kenyans.

Recently, President Uhuru Kenyatta accused his second-in-command of pointing fingers at the government he is serving instead of him being available in the office and serving Kenyans. In reply, the Deputy President told Uhuru that the people he had given a mandate were the ones who have failed him.
