Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa accuses CS Eugine Wamalwa of shortchanging a widowed aspirant

The MP said the CS has betrayed a longtime friend by ‘extorting’ money from her.

Kiminini MP and Trans Nzoia gubernatorial aspirant Dr. Chris Wamalwa has come to the defense of Women Representative Janet Nangabo, accusing Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa of playing a dirty game in shortchanging his neighbor and a long-term friend.

Dr. Wamalwa said those who played the dirty game and took the widow’s money (Janet Nangabo) in the name of nominations will face God’s wrath in their political careers.

He went on to ask voters to elect him as the second Governor of Trans Nzoia and DP William Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya in the next general election.

Addressing mourners at Sirende Ward during the burial of the retired Chief Benson Nangabo Khapwondi, Trans Nzoia Women Representative Janet Nangabo challenged voters to elect suitable leaders in the next general election and not on the basis of political parties.

This comes at a time when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) records the highest number of those eyeing various seats independently in the country.

The Woman Representative said the time has come for electorates to do away with parties and instead elect leaders as per their quality of leadership and excellent policies.

She added that she didn’t know that she would be shortchanged by party brokers.

“If I knew this was going to happen, I could have remained in the Deputy President’s party (UDA), but with God, all shall be well and you people will decide who will be your Women Representative,” she said.

Nangabo, who is serving her second term in the National Assembly, will be vying as an independent candidate and will face other competitors, including Phanice Khatundi (DAP), Naomi Okul (ODM), Susan Nakhumicha (Ford-K), Lilian Siyoi (UDA), Susan Murumba (Jubilee), Eunice Karanja (TSP) and Ester Koli.
