Ivugwi Village in Soy, Likuyani Sub-County, is mourning the tragic death of a 3-year-old girl who died after falling into a 40 ft deep borehole.
His 7-year-old brother, who is in a critical condition, was rescued and is receiving treatment at Likuyani Sub-County Hospital.
Soy Sub-Location assistant chief Bonivanture Lugado said the deceased girl opened the borehole before she accidentally fell in, forcing her brother to jump in on a mission to rescue her.
Villagers say the depth of the water hindered their efforts to rescue the little girl who died from drowning.
The body of the deceased girl was taken to Kimbilio mortuary for postmortem.
