A middle-aged man from Lumama Village in Lugari Location, Lugari Sub-county, died on the spot after he was electrocuted while cutting tree branches near an electric line in Lugari Forest.
The middle-aged man identified as Thomas Mung’au, a pastor of a certain Baptist Church, was pruning a cypress tree for branches that he uses to make traditional seats before he accidentally came in contact with the main electric line.
“The place where the incident happened is near Lumama Secondary School. The man is a pastor of a certain church and he deals in making traditional seats,” a witness said.
The witness added that the man was thrown off balance as a result and fell down with a thud.
