An impending storm is brewing at Kenya Kwanza after Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala lashed out at DP William Ruto for meddling in Western Kenya politics.
Malala who is eyeing the Kakamega gubernatorial seat, in a video going round, told the Kenya Kwanza presidential flagbearer to stay away from Western Kenya politics and let his ANC field its candidates.
“Huko juu tumeheshimu UDA, tumewapatia viti kubwa kubwa. Mheshimiwa William Ruto, kwa bedroom yetu, kwa vitu zetu hapa chini sasa usiiingilie. Tunataka ANC ikuwe na wabunge ndio tuheshimiane,” he said.
Malala said that Ruto’s demand of 70 percent of Western Kenya votes from ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula for a 30 percent share of government may remain a dream if he (Ruto) can’t keep distance.
Mudavadi and Wetangula, as part of the agreement in Kenya Kwanza, are expected to deliver 70 percent of the Western Kenya votes in exchange for the Premier Cabinet and National Assembly seats respectively, in addition to 30 percent of cabinet seats.
