Lugari MP Ayub Savula has handed over a KShs 1 million cheque to the administration of Mukhalanya Primary School in Matete Ward where pupils have been learning under trees.
This is after the lawmaker attended a prayer service for students of St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School held at the primary school.
Mukhalanya Primary School, which has over 1,000 pupils, is in dire need of at least five classrooms and an administration block. At least 200 pupils in the school attend lessons under trees after a building collapsed following a heavy downpour.
While laying the foundation stone for one classroom, the legislator urged residents to vote him in as deputy governor for Fernandes Barasa, who is seeking the Kakamega gubernatorial seat.
