Former Rifty Valley regional commissioner and Trans Nzoia County gubernatorial aspirant, George Natembeya, has finally unveiled his running mate.
Natembeya has picked Dr. Philomena Bineah Kapkor from the Sabaot Community at a function in Kwoko, Endebess Constituency.
Natembeya, who is running for the seat on the DAP-K ticket, said she settled on Dr. Kapkor because she emerged the best in an interview.
He said that some of those who applied for the position failed because they were still civil servants and had not resigned as per the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ACT that needed all civil servants to resign by February 9, 2022.
Those who did not make it to Natembeya’s deputy governor choice include John Meng’wa, Omar Ndiema, Milicah Psiwa and Stanely Kirui.
Meng’wa, Kirui and Ndiema pledged to work with Natembeya and propel the county to another level.
Psiwa has remained silent about the outcome.
Natembeya will face off with the incumbent Dr. Chris Wamalwa of Ford-Kenya, Moses Khaoya of ODM and independent candidates Jimmy Nduruchi, Prof. Ben Wanjala and Wycliffe Eshiwani.
