As a way of sealing and blocking Kenya Kwanza from clinching top seats in Trans Nzoia County, Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, has endorsed former Regional Commissioner George Natembeya for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat.
The former Prime Minister, as part of the changes, has dropped his ODM gubernatorial candidate Moses Khaoya and placed him on his presidential campaign team.
Addressing leaders in Cheranganyi, Raila said the enemy could pass in their midst if they remain scattered.
“We do not want our enemy to pass in our midst with this gubernatorial seat and therefore I have talked to Moses Khaoya and we have agreed to drop his ambition and join my presidential campaign team from today,” Odinga said.
Khaoya and Natembeya, who shook hands in Raila’s presence, have agreed to work together as a team in order to deliver more seats to Azimio la Umoja from MCA to the top.
In his speech, Raila has promised the people of Trans Nzoia that his government will ensure better roads are constructed.
He also pledged that his government will construct a teachers’ training college to ease the burden on parents and students traveling to far places in search of education; utilize the water towers in the county for irrigation purposes, and solve the land problem in the region.
Raila is expected to hold a major rally in Kitale town this evening after stopovers across the five constituencies.
