On Sunday, the body of a 60-year-old man from Mitua Village in Lwandeti Location of Lugari Constituency was discovered floating in a stream.
Family members said Paul Kenyatta Roman, the deceased, disappeared from his home on Thursday morning.
Mabuye Sub-location Assistant Chief, Kennedy Wambulwa, confirmed the incident and revealed that the body had visible injuries at the back of the head.
The body was taken to Webuye Sub-County Hospital in Bungoma County awaiting post-mortem as police commence investigations.
