Lugari MP Ayub Savula has joined other Luhya leaders to order DP William Ruto to apologize to members of the community for calling Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa a “woman”.
Addressing supporters at a campaign rally at Mbururu market in Likuyani, Savula told Ruto to do so withn seven days or face mass demonstrations for demeaning Luhyas.
“I want to address Ruto with respect. We as Luhyas want respect. If he fails to apologize within seven days, I will lead a peaceful demonstration against him across Western,” the MP said.
Savula further said Ruto is unfit for the top seat if he cannot tame his anger and respect a whole community. He said they are “going to use all money we have to make sure that Ruto is not the president”.
A week ago, Ruto responded to CS Wamalwa’s claim that he wanted to slap him by saying Kalenjin community traditions don’t allow a man to slap a woman.
