A middle-aged man has been arrested for killing his brother over a serving of omena, also known as silver cyprinid, in Seregeya sub-location, Likuyani Sub-county.
The deceased man, identified as Vincent Mmbwanga Misango, 56, was stopping a fight between his two brothers, Albert Adamba and John Kilibwa, who had turned up for supper in their mother’s house.
The loving mother had served them a delicious plate of omena each, but Mr. Kilibwa requested to have more, to which his brother objected.
Kambi Elijah Village elder Jimmy Gwayumba, who confirmed the incident, said that the two brothers had a bitter exchange before a duel ensued.
Their deceased brother was forced to intervene to strike a truce between them, but Adamba violently hit him on the head with a blunt object, throwing him down into unconsciousness.
Mr. Mmbwanga was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Turbo Sub-county hospital.
His brother was arrested and taken to Likuyani Police Station before he could be charged with murder.
The body of the deceased is lying in the Kimbilio mortuary in Uasin Gishu County.
