Outgoing Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has officially opened a regional governor’s office in Pan Paper in Mautuma Ward, Lugari Sub-county.
Oparanya, at a function held at Pan Paper near the new office, said the office will ensure residents from the northern part of Kakamega County in Lugari and Likuyani sub-counties get services without having to travel a long distance to Kakamega.
“I would like to thank Kakamega County staff for supporting me since I took office in 2013 until now when I am leaving. Thank you so much,” Oparanya said.
The county premier also seized the opportunity to outline his achievements since he became governor.
“I am proud that as I leave office, I have transformed Kakamega County and left everything in order and functional structures that my successor will continue on as he serves Wananchi,” he said.
The function happened just after Oparanya had commissioned the 7km Lumakanda-Mwamba road.
Among those in attendance was Lugari parliamentary candidate for ODM Nabii Nabwera and Salimu Namusasi, who is running for the MCA seat in Mautuma Ward on an ODM ticket.
