Lugari Ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA), Musa Wangila Makhapila, was forced to cut short his speech to a few seconds after he was shut down by a crowd gathered at a rally organized by Deputy President William Ruto at Lugari Station Market in Lugari Sub-county, Kakamega County.
Makhapila had just received the mic from former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale and hardly had he begun his speech than a section of the crowd shouted at him to stop addressing them.
The two-term ward rep was forced to reduce his words to mere greetings, and seemingly embarrassed, came down the vehicle he had climbed solemnly in the hope of turning crazy his home people.
“Hayaa, hamjambo wote, mulembe mwesi, hamjambo tena! Asante! Leo hii wote tumefurahi…kuona rais wetu. Asante sana Mungu awabariki (Now, how are you all, greetings. Thank you! We are all happy today… to see our president. Thanks a lot God bless you),” he said, embarrassed.
It forced the Deputy President to intervene and save the MCA who was finding it hard to calm the people.
The reactions of the residents towards their leader could be as a result of their disapproval of his track record for the nearly 10 years he has been in service.
