Former Lugari Ward MCA, Musa Wangila Makhapila, has lost in Sang’alo East Ward, Bungoma County, election where he sought to prolong his political career after abandoning Lugari Ward.
Makhapila emerged second after garnering 1,087 votes, coming third after Simon Makhanu who received 2,355, Raphael Wanyama who scooped 874 votes, and Everton Nganga who retained the seat with 2,820 votes.
Makhapila had served Lugari Ward for two terms under the 2010 Constitution and was under threat of being dropped if he would have chosen to defend his seat.
