“Ruto’s win is null and void,” Raila rejects presidential results and blows whistle for Supreme Court battle

Raila has called on his supporters to calm as he takes the next step.

Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer Raila Amollo Odinga has rejected the presidential results announced yesterday by the IEBC citing gross misconduct and disregard of the constitution by the commission’s chairman Wafula Chebukati.

Raila referred to the case of four commissioners disregarding the results as his basis for rejecting them, saying Mr. Chebukati.

“The law on the IEBC provides that unless a unanimous decision is reached, a decision on any matter before the commission shall be by a majority of the members present and voting. There’s no President-Elect. Uhuru Kenyatta is still the president of Kenya,” he said.

Raila said his team will be challenging the results in court.

Earlier before, the four commissioners held a lengthy press conference answering journalists as to why they defied Chebukati’s move to announce DP Ruto as President.

Led by IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherere, the commissioners said the percentage of 100.01 resulting from the total votes of candidates defies logic and that Mr. Chebukati failed to make public results of 28 constituencies.
