Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has called on Azimio la Umoja presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga and presidential elect William Ruto to have a truce.
Speaking at a funeral in Bungoma on Friday, Wetang’ula called on Raila to take up the opposition and said that a handshake between him (Raila) and Ruto will help promote peace.
The Senator urged Raila to concede defeat instead of heading to the Supreme Court to challenge Ruto’s win.
“This is not the first time you have not won an election. This is the fifth and just accept things happened the way they did, shake hands with us not to share government but to bring peace in the country,” he said.
Wetang’ula said his team will respect him as the former Prime Minister and as a man who has denied himself for the sake of the country.
