Nashon Wekesa alias Antidote, a young footballer who humbly started his career by playing for grassroot-level clubs and school teams, has received a major boost after successfully signing for the Kenya Commercial Bank Football Club (KCB FC), which plays in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL)
Nashon, who plays in the defense as a full-back right, comes from Lugari Constituency in Kakamega County and is among the 13 new signings that KCB FC has offered a one-year renewable contract to back up its squad ahead of season 2022/2023 which will kick off on 10th September 2022.

Wekesa’s star started shining at St. Paul’s Lugari Boys High where he used to play for and represent the school in regional and national competitions. His experience accumulated upon joining Zetech University where he used to play for the school team alongside pursuing his diploma in Information Technology.
Apart from playing for the school teams, Nashon is well known back in his hood for his major role in the achievements of Greenland FC, a grassroot-level team in Lugari Location.

Greenland FC coach, Dan Oketch, mentioned Nashon as a committed, disciplined, and a player destined for greatness.
Nashon himself thanks God for his new achievement. He dedicates his success to his parents for realizing talent in him and pushing him towards it.
“My parents used to wake me up to go and train. They used to give me enough time to train. I never wanted to let them down seeing the effort they put in me,” he says.
His role model is Henry Meja, a Kenyan footballer who plays for AIK Fotboll of Sweden. He identifies him as his friend and a person he would like to join in future before he signs for Chelsea, his dream club.
