Residents of Kibachenje Village in Bumula Sub-county, Bungoma County, have been left in awe after a Form One student stabbed his father to death for demanding his end-term report form.
Bumula OCPD Stephen Obara has confirmed that the 15-year-old student at Lumboka Secondary School fled after stabbing his father several times in the chest on Sunday evening.
“He is at large, our officers are after him. He can run but can’t hide, we are camping in every village until he is apprehended and charged in court with murder,” the OCPD said.
Mr. Obara said the deceased, Samuel Muchuma (41), had asked for his son’s report form to assess his performance but the son turned against him.
“Instead he handed his father the first term report form. He then picked the new kitchen knife he had bought and drove it inside his chest severally,” he added.
The deceased brother Maurice Wechabe confirmed that his keen passed on after being rushed to Bungoma County Refferal Hospital.
“After stabbing his dad, the boy fled with the help of his friend,” he said.
The body has been preserved at the hospital awaiting postmortem as police launch investigations.
