British Queen Elizabeth II was late last evening laid to rest at the Windsor Castle in Westminister in a private ceremony held in London in the United Kingdom.
The Royal Family will, however, continue to observe another week of mourning, the BBC reports.
The burial followed a state funeral that was attended by at least 2,000 world leaders and witnessed by billions of people on television across the globe.
UK citizens lined up across London to witness the procession of their Queen’s body before burial.
Among leaders who attended the burial service is President of Kenya William Ruto accompanied by his wife Rachel Ruto and President of the US Joe Biden together with his wife Jill Biden.
Queen Elizabeth leaves behind the kingdom to her son King Charles III, having served 70 years on the throne since 1952 when she was 25.
